Slovenia and Germany in favour of ending veto powers in EU enlargement process, at least partially

Ljubljana/Brussels, 07 December 2023, dtt-net.com – Slovenian and German governments agree that Qualified Majority voting (QMV) should be used in the enlargement process of the European Union aimed at ending current veto powers, but the ongoing initiatives and debates are still unclear over which part of membership negotiations could be switched to the QMV or nothing would change at all amid divisions between the 27 member states.
