Belgrade, 03 August 2025, dtt-net.com – French President Emmanuel Macron said he told his Serbian counterpart today during a phone conversation that he hopes Serbia will make progress on reforms and its EU membership process stalled four years already.
“I reiterated my conviction that Serbia’s destiny is European and my hope that it can progress, in a spirit of dialogue, on the path of reforms and accession,” Macron said through X after the discussion with Aleksandar Vucic, which comes on the request of the latter two days after Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Court of Appellate upheld sentencing the President of Serb entity Milorad Dodik to 1-year imprisonment and 6-year ban on holding current post, on charges of challenging decisions of western-backed envoy.
