Belgrade, 20 August 2025, dtt-net.com – The ruling Progressive Party (SNS) of Serbia, controlled by authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic, held today its own rallies in dozens of locations, in counter-response to ongoing widespread anti-Vucic protests of students who insist on early parliamentary elections.
The counter-rallies took place after a call made earlier today by the SNS’s chairperson and former Prime Minister, Milos Vucevic, who called party’s and Vucic’s supporters to join the rallies in several towns and locations, a move which comes after seventh day in the row of high tensions and incidents between protesting students and SNS members who are backed by the state police.
