Former President of Serb entity in Bosnia pays his 1-year jail sentence

Sarajevo, 30 August 2025, dtt-net.com – The former President of Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Milorad Dodik, has paid 18 600 Euros to the court, replacing his 1-year jail sentence for challenging decisions of western-backed envoy, on top of 6-year ban on holding highest post in the entity.

Following the court verdict, Dodik mandate is terminated by BiH election body and early elections are set for November, while the Serb entity parliament in counter-response has called a referendum for October on Christian Schmidt’s decisions and BiH court’s ruling on Dodik, with the latter threatening with referendums on independence of entity and against EU membership…
