Brussels/Tirana, 12 September 2025, dtt-net.com – The European Democratic Party (EDP) representing European Democrats and part of Renew Europe group in the European Parliament, today scolded Albanian Prime Minister over his AI-generated “minister”, saying that in a democracy only people should govern and not algorithms.
“AI can do many things for us. But it cannot make decisions for us. It cannot weigh values. It cannot represent people. It cannot be held accountable. In a democracy, only people should govern,” the EDP said over Edi Rama’s AI-generated “minister” named “Diella” and which he says will oversee public tenders.
