Podgorica, 23 December 2025, dtt-net.com – The government of Montenegro today decided to annul suspension of visa-free regime to nationals of Türkiye and reduced it to 30-day stay, after suspension of late October when police wrongfully detained two Türkiye nationals suspected of stabbing a Montenegrin citizen in capital Podgorica. “On 23 December 2025, in accordance with Article 10 of the Regulation on the Government, without holding a session, based on the obtained consent of the majority of the members of the Government, the Government of Montenegro adopted the Regulation amending the Regulation on the Visa Regime, which repeals the temporary suspension of the visa-free regime for citizens of the Republic of Turkey, with the permitted stay being reduced from 90 days to 30 as a measure to prevent illegal migration, and with the aim of harmonizing it with the visa policy of the European Union,” the government of the Prime Minister Milojko Spajic announced after today’s session.
