Tirana, 23 January 2026, dtt-net.com – Albania should improve its performance in reforms, especially to strengthen rule of law and fight against corruption and organized crime, German officials urged today during a visit in capital Tirana.
Germany’s Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office, Gunther Krichbaum, held political talks in Tirana today with representatives of government, ruling and opposition parties, and also with chief of Albania’s Special Prosecutor's Office for Development and Cooperation (SPAK), at the moment when opposition parties have stepped up pressure on the Prime Minister Edi Rama and his ruling Socialist Party (PS) for resignation whom they accuse of corruption, embezzlement of state budget, links with organize crime and election fraud.
