Tirana/Brussels, 23 December 2025, dtt-net.com – Albanian government joined the European Commission’s (EC) rejection to the call of Serbian President for membership of all Western Balkans countries all together and at the same time, recalling that the EU accession process is a reform merit-based.
“While statements, positions, and expressions of political will are always welcome, in our view they are not sufficient for a merit-based process. The path to the European Union has no shortcuts and no quick fixes,” Albanian Foreign Affairs Ministry told dtt-net.com when asked to comment on veiled call by Aleksandar Vucic made earlier this month.
