Tirana, 23 September 2025, dtt-net.com – The municipal assembly of Albania’s capital Tirana today voted in favour of dismissal of mayor from the ruling Socialist Party (PS), who is detained and charged of corruption, embezzlement of municipality’s funds and money laundering.
Both, ruling and opposition members of town’s municipal assembly voted in favour of dismissal of Erion Veliaj, which must now be confirmed by the government.
