Tirana, 24 February 2026, dtt-net.com – An earthquake of 4,2 Richter magnitude has hit Albania today at 20:00 CET, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
According to the first reports by the EMSC the 15km depth earthquake had the epicentre 16 km east-north of Lushnjë and 22 km south-west of Elbasan.
Two other quakes of lower magnitude were felt minutes later, of 2,8 and 2,6 righter magnitudes respectively, at the same epicentre.
According to the first reports there are no material damages caused by the quake.
Albanian National Agency of Civilian Protection said that no community problems or infrastructure damage are reported following the earthquake of epicentre at Belsh municipality.
