Nicosia/Brussels, 07 January 2026, dtt-net.com – EU enlargement is “crucial to strengthen our Union as a geopolitical player,” the President of European Council Antonio Costa said today.
“In this multipolar world, an enlarged European Union means a stronger, safer, and more peaceful Europe at home and abroad,” Costa said at the ceremony held today in Nicosia as Cyprus took over Presidency of the European bloc for next six months.
