Brussels, 16 September 2025, dtt-net.com – The European Commissioner in charge of enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos, today expressed “serious concern” over the state of play in the rule of law area in the four candidate countries from the Western Balkans region.
Kos said the concerns are related to judicial proceedings, corruption and media freedoms, and warned that without progress in the areas, which are at the centre of the fundamentals cluster of negotiating chapters, no candidate country will be able to become member of the European bloc.
