Brussels, 29 December 2025, dtt-net.com – Top officials of the EU Commission today called for quick formation of new parliament and government in Kosovo after Sunday new elections won by the party of incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, reiterating also call for ratification of agreements with the EU needed for new fund for Western Balkans region and implementation of 2023 agreement with Serbia which focuses on formation of controversial autonomous body for Serb minority.
“After the political stalemate following the February 2025 elections, we look forward to the swift formation of the new Assembly and Government and to continuing our engagement with the authorities. The new government should redouble its efforts on much needed EU-related reforms,” the European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and EU chief of diplomacy Kaja Kallas said in a joint statement today.
