Sarajevo, 14 January 2026, dtt-net.com – The EU today called Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) institutions to adopt two laws on money laundering and countering financing of terrorism in order to avoid being listed in G7’s Financial Action Task Force (FATF) ‘Grey list’ and which would have consequences for local businesses, banks and access to international financial markets.
“The relevant authorities in BiH therefore need to take urgent action, in particular to proceed with the adoption of two laws at state level - a law on asset confiscation and management as well as a law on targeted financial sanctions for terrorism, financing of terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The establishment of the register of beneficial ownership for legal persons in BiH is also long overdue, something which requires immediate actions by the entities and Brcko District,” the EU office in Sarajevo said today in a press statement.
