Serbia police use force to evict students and professors from faculty building

Belgrade, 21 January 2026, dtt-net.com – Serbian police used force to evict dozens of student, citizens and professors from the building of Faculty of Philosophy in northern town of Novi Sad, who were protesting in support of a professor who lost her job after 20 years of work because of her solidarity with ongoing protests of students against authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic and his ruling Progressive Party (SNS). According to local media reports one of students had his noise broken by the police during the use of force to remove protesters from the building.
