Podgorica/Skopje, 30 January 2026, dtt-net.com – Truck drivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) today entered fifth consecutive day of blocking border crossing lanes with neighbouring EU countries and Albania and Kosovo, while those from Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia decided to halt the strike, as the European Commission (EC) is launching talks with Western Balkans authorities first before tackling the matter with 27 governments of member states.
The decision of truck drivers in the three countries to halt the strike is taken after the European Commission (EC) yesterday announced it will enter talks with governments of 27 EU member countries aimed at extending the duration of 90 day stay in EU territory within 180 days period, as part of its new proposal for EU visa strategy for third countries.
