UN court denies provisional release motion to the ‘Butcher of Bosnia’ sentenced to life jail over Srebrenica Genocide

The Hague/Sarajevo, 11 November 2025, dtt-net.com - A request for release on compassionate grounds for a period of seven days by the ‘Butcher of Bosnia’, Ratko Mladic, sentenced for Srebrenica Genocide, is rejected today by the President of United Nations The Hague-based court. President Judge Graciela Gatti Santana of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) said the 83-year-old wartime military leader of Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) “has not demonstrated that the release he requests is justified”.
