Belgrade, 16 June 2025, dtt-net.com – Thousands of citizens in Serbia’s northern town of Novi Sad launched an all-night-blockade of entrance of towns municipal building Monday, hoping to oblige the ruling party controlled by authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic to early municipal election, as tensions between the two sides continue since November when the collapse of train station canopy killed 16 people, including a student.
The blockade is joined by anti-President protesters, as students continue with daily widespread protests across the country while also stepping up pressure on authorities seeking early parliamentary elections since last month.
