Prishtina, 18 July 2025, dtt-net.com – Kosovo police today detained a member of Serbia government for calling the former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) – which fought in 1998-1999 war for liberation and independence from Serbia – a “terrorist” organization.
Kosovo’s outgoing minister of interior, Xhelal Sveçla, said in a press release that the deputy director of office for Kosovo at Serbian government, Igor Popovic, was detained at the border crossing following his speech in Rahovec municipality “inciting hatred and inter-ethnic divisions” by qualifying the KLA “as terrorist organization”.
