Podgorica/Brussels, 24 July 2025, dtt-net.com – Montenegro government members say the goal of Podgorica is to close all negotiating chapters in EU membership negotiations by the end of next year during the Irish rotating Presidency of the European bloc.
“Montenegro is fully committed to closing all negotiation chapters during the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2026. This is our main strategic and reform goal, and we believe that with the partner support of member states like Ireland, we can meet the expectations of our citizens,” said Montenegro’s Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, at a meeting with the Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence of Ireland, Thomas Byrne.
