Belgrade, 29 December 2025, dtt-net.com – The Prosecutor’s Office in Serbia’s northern town of Novi Sad said it filed today a complaint to the Appellate Court challenging a decision of town’s High Court which rejected an indictment filed against a former minister and five others it charged over collapse of train station canopy in November 2024 which killed 16 people, including a student.
“The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad informs the public that on December 29, 2025. year, within the legal deadline, filed an appeal with the Court of Appeal in Novi Sad against the decision of the High Court in Novi Sad number KV 964/25 dated 24.12.2025. year, in the part of the decision in which it was decided that there are no charges against the defendants: J.T. of the former acting general director of "Infrastruktur železnice Srbije" ad, G.V. of the former minister in the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, A.D. of the former acting assistant minister in the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, M.S. reporter for constructions of the Republic Audit Commission, M.G. and D.T. persons responsible for professional supervision, for one criminal offense each Felony offense against general safety from Article 288 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the code,” the prosecutor’s office said in a press statement.
