Skopje, 08 January 2026, dtt-net.com – Floods have hit North Macedonia too since yesterday amid heavy rainfalls, a situation ongoing across the Western Balkans region in the recent days.
According to country’s Centre for Crisis Management floods have hit west-south municipalities (Tetovo, Ohrid, Kicevo, Bitola and Gostivar) as rivers went out of their banks reaching households and causing landslides too.
In Kicevo municipality around 100 people were evacuated with municipality authorities and the local Red Cross providing accommodation, food and medicines.
Traffic disruptions are also reported in several locations amid floods and landslides.
