Kosovo headed toward new elections as talks for new President collapse

Prishtina, 23 April 2026, dtt-net.com – Negotiations between Kosovo parties for election of country’s new president by the parliament have collapsed, and new elections are expected to take place by mid-June at latest. The deadline set by the Constitutional Court to the parliament to elect a new one after initial failure of two months ago ends on April 28; but talks of the leader of biggest party and Prime Minister Albin Kurti with opposition parties have concluded without a compromise.
