Brussels/Belgrade, 04 May 2026, dtt-net.com – Last week the European Commissioner in charge of the enlargement Marta Kos said that the European Commission (EC) has “stopped” payments to Serbia from EU’s new fund for Western Balkans because of controversial judiciary laws, but a spokesperson of the same institution today said that there was no such, decision, thus creating a confusion to the public.
“I think our position is clear, there was no decision to freeze funds or anything like this,” spokesperson Markus Lammert, told reporters today twice in a press conference, when asked about statement of Kos made on April 30 during a visit to Switzerland.
