Montenegro opposition calls government for talks over controversial laws as condition to support constitutional changes proposals needed for EU entry talks

Podgorica, 02 July 2026, dtt-net.com – The main opposition party of Montenegro, Democratic Party of Socialist (DPS) today said it will not support constitutional changes needed for EU accession negotiations over election of High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) members and over country’s Central Bank, unless the government and parliamentary majority repeals controversial laws on internal affairs and nationals security agency, which are also contested by the European Commission (EC).
