Following the interception, the duty prosecutor at the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was immediately notified. By order of the prosecutor, the driver was taken into custody under suspicion of human smuggling. Law enforcement officials temporarily seized the vehicle, mobile phones, cash, and other evidentiary materials at the scene.
The suspect is currently being handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH alongside a formal criminal report. The BiH Service for Affairs with Foreigners has also been briefed on the incident to process the status of the smuggled individuals.
