Sarajevo, 10 July 2026, dtt-net.com – Two Serb ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) today boycotted a government session on the proposal to declare July 11 a National Day of Mourning over Srebrenica Genocide of 31 years ago committed by Serb entity forces on Bosniaks. “Due to the lack of a quorum for work and decision-making, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not consider the Proposal for a Decision on declaring July 11 a day of mourning in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 79th extraordinary telephone session,” the government said in a press release.
According to the release, there were eight votes for the proposed item on the agenda, while two members of the SNSD party of Serb entity refused to participate.
The initiative for the adoption of this decision was jointly submitted by three Bosniak ministers, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees and the Ministry of Defence.
11 July was declared Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide last year in Bosniak-Croat entity only, while Serb entity and its politicians refused to do the same.
Serb entity and Serbia refuse to recognize Srebrenica massacre of 31 years ago as Genocide, when Serb entity forces massacred 8372 Bosniak civilians , although two international courts recognized it as Genocide.
Remains of ten more victims will be buried Saturday in the Srebrenica Memorial centre of Potoçari.
The number of found victims – in different mass graves in and around Srebrenica area – and buried in Potočari is nearly 7000 so far.
