Skopje, 20 July 2026, dtt-net.com – 3 employees of a public company in North Macedonia’s western municipality of Gostivar are detained today, on orders of the prosecution after analysis showed pollution of potable water with bacteria, which caused an epidemic in the town with around 3000 citizens contaminated.
“Police officers from the Gostivar Police Station in coordination with the Gostivar Basic Public Prosecutor's Office have deprived three people of their liberty in connection with suspicions of water pollution in the Gostivar water supply system,” the interior ministry announced.
