Zagreb/Belgrade, 05 August 2026, dtt-net.com, - Croatia today celebrated the 31st anniversary of the takeover of Krajina region from Serbia-backed Serb rebels through a military action which marked the end of the 1991-1995 war in the country.
“Storm was a brilliant military victory, a legitimate liberation operation and the crowning glory of Croatia's fight for freedom," Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said at the ceremony held in Knin.
Operation Oluja (Storm) was the code name for the operation carried out by Croatian Armed Forces in the early hours of 5 August 1995 where it regained control of the Krajina region that had been in Serb hands since 1991.
