Albania’s Parliament protests war crimes guilty verdict on former Kosovo President and 3 others

Tirana/Prishtina, 17 September 2026, dtt-net.com – The Parliament of Albania today expressed its disapproval with the guilty verdict by international judges on war crimes charges of four former leaders of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), which fought for liberation and independence from Serbia during the 1998-1999 war, qualifying the verdict and sentencing from 13 to 25 years of imprisonment as “unjust”. “The Parliament of Albania expresses its deep indignation and complete disagreement with a decision it considers profoundly unjust towards Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi,” Albanian parliament said in a declaration.
