Albania court ends house arrest measure to opposition leader

Tirana, 27 November 2024, dtt-net.com – Albania’s Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) today ended the house arrest on the former Prime Minister and leader of the of the main opposition party, Sali Berisha, after eleven months since the measure was imposed on him following prosecution charges of alleged “passive corruption” and abuse of office during his 2005-2009 mandate which he denies.
