Albania opposition protest against government turns violent

Tirana, 24 January 2026, dtt-net.com – A massive anti-government protest called by the opposition today in Albanian capital turned violent, as tensions between the two sides are looming with opposition calling for resignation of premier whom it accuses of corruption, links to organized crime, embezzlement of state funds and election theft. According to the police, 11 policemen are reported injured and 17 protesters are detained after clashes in front of Prime Minister Edi Rama office and Parliament.
