Albania’s ruling party to hold counter-rally as anti-PM massive protests at 12th consecutive day over resorts plans linked to Trump’s son-in-law

Tirana, 11 June 2026, dtt-net.com – The ruling Socialist Party (PS) of Albania has called its members and supporters for a rally in capital Tirana for June 12, as it says, to mark 35 years of its existence, but the rally comes 12 days after massive daily street protests of citizens against its leader and Prime Minister Edi Rama over touristic resort plans he insists on and involving Qatari investors and Donald Trump’s son-in-law in coastal areas of the EU candidate country. The counter-rally of Rama’s PS is called in the evening Friday at the “Italia” square, with structures attempting to mobilize as much as possible people to attend, according to internal phone messages of party’s structures published by local media. Rama is under heavy pressure to halt construction plans of Qatari investors linked to Jared Kushner, on Zvernec and Sazan island.
