Croatia celebrates 30th anniversary of Operation Storm which marked end of war, Serbia mourns

Zagreb/Belgrade, 06 August 2022, dtt-net.com, – Croatia celebrated the 30th anniversary of the take over from Serbia-backed Serb rebels of Krajina region through a military action which marked the end of the 1991-1995 war in the country.

“Operation Storm was a decisive turning point in the imposed Homeland War. In just a few days, under the leadership of the first Croatian President, Dr. Franjo Tuđman, almost a quarter of the then occupied state territory was liberated and the plan of the criminal regime of Slobodan Milošević was broken. Storm also had a decisive influence on the end of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, opened the way for the return of the exiles and enabled the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danube Region,” Croatian Prime minister Andrej Plenkovic said on the occasion.
