Brussels/Podgorica, 05 March 2026, dtt-net.com – The European Commission (EC) has not given its consent over current version of draft laws of the government of Montenegro for changes proposed to the law on internal affairs and country’s national security agency and has asked for improvements in order to be consistent with EU rules and standards.
The EC said that the data protection provisions of both laws “are not yet fully in line with the EU acquis, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Law Enforcement Directive (LED).”
