Brussels, 19 March 2025, dtt-net.com – Dozens of members of the European Parliament (EP) have “strongly urged” the President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, to “reconsider” upcoming meeting of her with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, warning that the meeting “risks further reinforcing perceptions that the EU ignores democratic backsliding and gravely alienating the Serbian people from the EU,” while also called for a transitional government which would pave the way for free and fair elections in the country amid ongoing widespread protests against authoritarian president.
