Landslide majority of Montenegro citizens reject idea of returning to joint state union with Serbia (poll)

Podgorica, 26 April 2026, dtt-net.com – Nearly 63% of Montenegro citizens would have voted for country’s independence - obtained in 2006 - and nearly 20% for a joint state union or be part of Serbia, if a referendum would have been held in November last year, according to an opinion survey. To the question “how would you vote today?” 62,8% said they would have voted for independence, 14,6% for a state union with Serbia - as it was after break-up of Yugoslavia in ’90 until 2006 referendum when it left, and 4,8% for being part of Serbia, show the results of opinion survey by ‘Spektrum Analitika” published by daily Vijesti.
