Montenegro parliament to probe controversial trial of allegedly planned terrorist attacks case of 20 years ago

Podgorica, 09 October 2026, dtt-net.com – The Parliament of Montenegro Friday agreed to set up an inquiry committee to try shed light over ‘what was named “Orlov let” (Eagle’s Flight) operation of 2006 conducted by the Montenegrin police to arrest a group of ethnic Albanians who allegedly planned terrorist attacks. The proposal of two ethnic Albania lawmakers, Artan Çobi and Nikollë Camaj of Albanian Forum party, was approved with 49 votes in favour, no abstentions, and none against. Eagle's Flight was the name of an operation conducted by the Montenegrin police to arrest a group of Albanians who allegedly planned terrorist attacks. MP Çobi said in a press release that the decision of the parliament in an “important step forward for transparency, truth, and accountability”, over 2006 arrests.
