Skopje, 04 August 2025, dtt-net.com – The head of North Macedonia’s governing coalition, Hristijan Mickoski, joined today condemnations of xenophobic chants on Albanians during the basketball match between North Macedonia and Romania national teams of two days ago by a group of Macedonian fans.
“To be honest, while I was there, I didn’t notice it at all, because it was a small group of people. But I would also like to take this opportunity to join the condemnation of nationalism and xenophobia, first of all the one that happened during the basketball match between Macedonia and Romania, and then to send a message to all fan groups to cheer in a sporting way, to cheer for their team and the national team of Macedonia,” Mickoski told reporters today when asked about the incident which sparked widespread reactions in the country.
