Belgrade/Podgorica, 10 December 2025, dtt-net.com – The President of Serbia says it would be better that all Western Balkans countries join the European Union at the same time, but his veiled desire caused immediate reaction from top Montenegro officials as Podgorica is the frontrunner in the accession process and expects to join the EU in 2028 without waiting for stalled Serbia led by the Russia-friendly leader.
Aleksandar Vucic said yesterday that he will propose what he said it his “idea” to the president of European Council, Antonio Kosta, and the President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, while any such decision depends to the existing 27 member countries of the EU, not the EC nor European Council President.
