Belgrade, 15 November 2025, dtt-net.com – Oil refinery in Serbia, NIS, owned in majorly by Gazprom’s subsidiaries, will shutdown its operations in a week as USA government has refused to exempt it from sanctions and insists on change of ownership of Russian shares, Serbian officials announced today.
Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, told reporters today in a press conference that USA government has informed Belgrade authorities that it wants two Russian Gazprom subsidiaries, Gazprom Neft and Intelligence, to give up their 56% shares of NIS refinery, in order to remove it from sanctions which are being implemented since October 9 and imposed in January by Joe Biden’s government.
