Russia unease with “colour revolution” against its ally authoritarian Serbia President as students launch unrest

Belgrade, 30 June 2025, dtt-net.com – Russia officials today expressed unease of what they called ‘“colour revolution” on Moscow-friendly Serbia’s authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic as protesting student launch unrest through widespread roadblock since last night.

Russian foreign affairs minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow is interested “unrest” to be “calmed down”, and warned western powers “not engage in colour revolutions this time”, thus embracing same vocabulary and labelling as Vucic of increasing tensions in the country, triggered since November 2024 when train station canopy collapse in northern town of Novi Sad killed sixteen people, including a student.
