Belgrade/Brussels, 14 August 2025, dtt-net.com – Hundreds of Serbia students and citizens are expressing their discontent and anger through social media over vague public statements of EU officials amid ongoing violence, including of last night, on them by supporters of authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic and state police he controls.
Reacting to today’s X post statement of Slovenian EU Commissioner in charge of enlargement, Marta Kos, over last night violence in Nov Sad town, students and citizens blasted “boring”, “polite” and “politically correct messages” of her, calling Kos and other EU officials to be more direct toward Vucic amid continued crackdown on students.
Some of them even express distrust in positions of EU officials and government of member states, as they believe that the European bloc is siding with authoritarian President who has promised EU’s automotive industry country’s lithium reserves in western municipality of Loznica.
