Belgrade, 04 July 2025, dtt-net.com – The European Commission (EC) should publicly respond to the ongoing “brutal crackdown” by Serbian police on protesting students, Serbia’s biggest platform of civil society, which gathers 850 member organizations on the topic of country’s EU pathway, called in a public statement.
“It is imperative that the European Commission also recognize the gravity of the situation and publicly respond. Silence in the face of such violence only enables its normalization,” the National Convention on the EU wrote yesterday, as students supported by professors and citizens enter into sixth day of unrest demanding from the authoritarian President and his associates early parliamentary elections.
