Belgrade/Podgorica, 14 May 2026, dtt-net.com – The President of Serbia said he will not attend Independence Day – May 21- celebration of Montenegro despite invitation he received from Podgorica authorities, in yet another refusal of his to agree with Montenegro leaving the state of union it formed with Serbia until 2006 after dissolution of Yugoslav federation.
“I received an invitation to participate in the glamorous celebration of secession from my Serbia. Of course, I will not participate in that. I love Serbia the most in the world, and to celebrated something like that, I would be ashamed and I would spit in the face of myself and my people in face, and let them celebrate whatever they want," Aleksandar Vučić told today reporters.
