Shutdown of Russia-owned oil refinery in Serbia imminent as USA does not grant sanctions dispensation

Belgrade, 02 December 2025, dtt-net.com – Serbia’s President announced today that the NIS oil refinery in the country owned in majority by Russian companies did not get exemption from Washington sanctions, which will cause shutdown of its operations. Aleksandar Vucic said in a press conference the country and the NIS company did get a positive answer from the American government.
