Thousands attend anti-President rally in Serbia’s northern town calling for early elections

Belgrade, 21 June 2026, dtt-net.com – Thousands of Serbia students and citizens rallied Saturday in northern town of Novi Sad, calling for early parliamentary elections, which authoritarian President says will take place this year but still refuses to set a date. The rally is part of ongoing protests of students against Aleksandar Vucic and his Progressive Party (SNS), triggered by the tragic accident of November 2024 in the town, when train station’s canopy collapsed and killed 16 people, including a student.
