Belgrade/Prishtina, 21 July 2025, dtt-net.com – The government of Serbia said today that Belgrade will not participate in EU-mediated negotiations with Kosovo authorities unless a Serbian official detained last week and sent to 30-day detention by Kosovo court is released.
The Director of office for Kosovo at Serbian government, Petar Petkovic, is quoted by pro-government agency Tanjug saying that he had told EU officials in Belgrade that Belgrade will not attend EU-mediated negotiations between the two sides until his deputy Igor Popovic is released, after his arrest for qualifying the now disbanded Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) as “terrorist organization” during a speech in Kosovan municipality of Rahovec Friday.
