Stalemate in Kosovo parliament in the hands of top court now

Prishtina, 26 July 2025, dtt-net.com – Judges of Kosovo Constitutional Court are the ones who will decide by August 8 over next steps after 54th ridiculous repetitive failures , and the 2nd of today, of stubborn politicians to constitute the Parliament following February elections.

The court has ruled a 13-day suspension of saga session amid 107 days of failure of political opponents to compromise and elect Speaker of Parliament and related bodies.

Judges of the top court are expected to decide should stubborn politicians continue with the saga until a compromise is reached, call early elections or authorize opposition parties to try break the ice, as the winner party of February 9 elections – the Vetevendosje (LVV) party of the caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti – is failing to gather sufficient votes for its nominee for the top post in the 120-seat body.
