Podgorica, 08 August 2025, dtt-net.com – Photojournalists of two Montenegro media were assaulted physically, and their camera’s destroyed by dozens of people today in east of Montenegro, during a relocation from a private area to the compound of Serbian Church of a statue of a Serb Chetnik and Fascist/Nazi collaborator during WWII.
Assaulters, angry over relocation of Pavle Đurišić statue – who also participated in massacre of nearly 10 000 Bosniaks, including children and women, in 1943 – assaulted photojournalists of daily Pobjeda and Vjiesti, in the presence of two police members in the Gornje Zaostro village of Berane Municipality east of Montenegro, resurfacing once more deep divisions between ethnic Montenegrins and Serb nationalists in the country.
